Annikas Story
Making everything possible for patients
When I was looking for a traineeship as an industrial clerk in the early 2000s, I had two offers. I chose Eckert & Ziegler—firstly because I was interested in the medical field and secondly because it is an international company. Work preparation, dispatch, quality control—during my training, I got to know all of this and, above all, the people who work there. That was a great experience. Because that way I knew from the start who I could talk to about which topic. It also helps to understand how other departments work and why.
Mastering challenges together
Answering inquiries, writing orders and invoices, and helping customers with questions or problems—that’s all part of my job. It’s very varied and I’ve also built up a very close relationship with many customers over the years. As a team, we always try to make everything possible. I remember exactly how a customer called just before Christmas and said that he needed an eye applicator for tumor therapy for a child in North America within a short period of time. We all pulled out all the stops together and actually managed to do it in such a short time. That was a great feeling. Because you always know: There is a person behind it all. I also don’t believe in saying that the customer should have ordered earlier. Anyone can forget something, that’s human nature. The important thing is to stick together. Then you find solutions.
Continuous development
At Eckert & Ziegler, new tasks and products are constantly emerging. That’s important to me too! You can grow with new challenges. For example, I switched from medical technology to laboratory equipment and rebuilt the internal sales department there together with a colleague. That was an exciting time, especially as I also started studying business administration by distance learning at around the same time. Eckert & Ziegler not only supported me financially. After my parental leave, I cut back to 5 days and now work 30 hours a month. It’s a good fit for me and my family.
