What should I know when I start a traineeship at Eckert & Ziegler?

You will spend the first ten months of your traineeship in external training at the Vocational Training Center for Chemistry (BBZ) in Berlin-Adlershof. Here you will learn the basics of general, organic, and inorganic chemistry. You will also practice important manual processes and careful process documentation.

You will then begin your practical training at our company in Berlin-Buch, including further external training modules at the Vocational Training Center for Chemistry (BBZ) in Berlin-Adlershof.

Right from the start, you will be integrated into the existing trainee team alongside your operational department. This means that you always have the opportunity to benefit from the experiences of all trainees and always have a space for exchanges.
Vocational school classes take place at the Oberstufenzentrum (OSZ) Lise Meitner in Berlin-Neukölln for the entire training period.

Duration of training: 3.5 years (shortening possible due to good performance)

Training location: Berlin

Start of training: every year on 1 September

Prerequisites: Advanced technical college entrance qualification, general higher education entrance qualification

What is the training content?

Here you will learn the basics of general, organic, and inorganic chemistry. You will also practice important manual processes and careful process documentation.

  • Sampling and sample preparation
  • Fundamentals of chromatographic and spectroscopic methods
  • Preparative chemistry, reaction types and control
  • Application of chromatographic and spectroscopic methods
  • Analytical coupling techniques
  • Quality management

 

Tasks during the phases in the company:
As part of our team, you will be involved in production and quality control as well as in the new and further development of innovative radioactive medical products and medicines. You will be deployed in various areas where exciting fields of activity await you, such as:

  • Wet chemistry
  • Electrolysis
  • Instrumental analytics
  • GMP
  • Hygiene monitoring

How will the training take place?

First year of training (BBZ ten months, company two months):

  • Basic vocational training
  • Communication and information systems
  • Analytical practical course
  • Preparative practical course I

 

Second year of training (BBZ four months, company eight months):

  • Preparative practical course II
  • Instrumental analytics I
  • Additional instruction final examination part 1

 

Third and fourth year of training (BBZ five months, company seven months):

  • Preparative practical course III incl. elective qualification
  • Instrumental analysis II incl. elective qualifications
  • Additional instruction final examination part 2

What prospects do I have after my traineeship?

After successfully completing your training as a chemical laboratory technician (m/f/d), you can be employed in laboratories in the chemical, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industries, as your training with us will provide you with extensive technical knowledge and skills for a good start to your career.

Ideally, we would then like to integrate you as a very well-trained junior employee and offer you a career start at the Eckert & Ziegler Group. After successfully completing your training, we will give you an employment guarantee for the first six months.
